The Sheep Have Joined the Party

The hedgehog pattern is a hit, so it's time for more animals to join the party. After two glorious weeks in Ireland earlier this month, I decided a fluffy sheep should join the group first.

Like the hedgehog, this pattern is worked in the round to provide nice, full fur. Depending on your gauge your size will vary. But, that can be really cool - add more rounds to make a really large sheep, or fewer rounds to make a tiny one. You decide!

A black sheep and a gray sheep would look great too! My nieces want a purple one and a pink one, so I'll be working on that soon.

Pattern is only $5 and you can pick up your copy on this site, Etsy, or Ravelry.

Happy Hookin!

New Pattern: Sheep Scarf

My latest pattern is an adorable sheep scarf - perfect for days like today when it's so chilly outside. The instructions include details on the face, legs, and tail, but you could easily leave those off and make a fabulous cowl for a more grown-up look.

I had one of these on display at my last show and it was a hit with both the adults and the kids alike. You can purchase the pattern on this site, Ravelry, Etsy, or Craftsy.

I'm Counting Sheep

I am having so much fun making these! White Sheep. Gray Sheep. Baby Sheep.
I like how each one ends up looking a little bit different. Some are skinny and some are nice and plump.

I think I want to make some pink ones . .

BAAAAAAA!!

Remember a couple weeks back when I spoke about needing a new hobby like needing another hole in my head? Well, um, yeah. I am enjoying the polymer clay thing. A LOT!

I've also taken up Portuguese Knitting (I'm determined to learn to knit someday) as I've heard it helps with those that have carpel tunnel. Well, in order to do that style of knitting, you have to have a special knitting pin. Sure, there's stuff out there, and I did get a few in order to get started. But I decided I needed to make one myself. You know, make something with your newest hobby that can be used with your other new hobby?

I think they turned out cute. I plan to make some in other colors, and I'm sure other animals will come to mind as well.
Happy Hooking, Knitting, Claying, Etc!

Cold Coffee is BAAAAAA . . . D

I know it's happened to you. You make a nice, warm cup of coffee that's perfect. It's so hot you can't even sip it, so you put in beside you to cool off a bit. The smell is maddening. You start working on something else thinking you'll take your first sip in 5 minutes.

Then it happens. 45 minutes . . . or maybe longer . . . go by. Now the coffee is cold.

You take a sip anyway knowing it will be terrible.

YUCK! Why did I do that?

You, my friend, need a cup cozy. And the fact that it's a sheep, well, that's just adorable.

I ended up making several of these over the weekend. I used the the owl pattern to create the mug wrap, but eliminated 2 rows and shortened the loops to 12 stitches each to account for the more bulky yarn I used. The sheep is my "Beaded Sheep Applique" pattern without all the beads. Super quick and super cute, this is the perfect gift for the coffee or tea drinker in your life.

Happy hooking!
