I've made this scarf over and over again. I've made it where the rows are horizontal and where the rows are vertical. I've made it wide and I've made it skinny. Sometimes I add fringe, sometimes I don't. Using a lightweight yarn produces lovely results, but using a chunky yarn with embellishments and fun color changes makes it really stand out. I normally can make one in 2-3 evenings. I think the joy I get in making this one really shows and it is my most requested custom item to make.
Here are pics of some of the scarfs I've made over the years. I first started using Yarn Bee Diva Sequin, but when that got discontinued I found Galaxy. The purple is some lighter weight yarn that I hand dyed myself. I think this would look fantastic in Noro. I've also thought about using stash yarn and letting the tails hang long and tying in beads.
